The history of Lapin Consulting InternationalLapin Consulting International Lapin Consulting International, Inc. (formerly Strategic Business Ethics, Inc.) was founded in 1989. Working with companies across a wide spectrum of industries on five continents, we have helped them leverage human energy and innovation into quick, visible, and lasting financial impact. How Strategic Business Ethics began and became Lapin International One day in 1990, Bill Nairn, CEO of the JCI Mining Group walked into David Lapin's (CEO of SBE) office with an unconventional hypothesis. "Nearly all business challenges are fundamentally human. They result more from issues around the human spirit, its cravings, relationships, and needs, than around pure economic and financial criteria. Surely if we could identify and fix the human, relational, and spiritual issues in an organization, business would flourish?" This was the seed that grew into a dynamic consulting firm, Strategic Business Ethics, Inc. (SBE), later to become Lapin International. Bill’s idea resonated with David's own belief that the solutions to most business problems were being sought in the wrong disciplines. SBE led a research team to investigate how cultures, values, the ethics of management, and the greatness of individual leaders as human beings impact corporate financial performance. The project took a year and a half and covered some 20,000 employees from more than 10 different cultures, at all management levels. The results, subsequently validated internationally, were astonishing and opened a host of opportunities to unlock human greatness to boost financial performance. Lapin International's Work with Global OrganizationsYears of research and studying businesses around the world deepened this insight, leading David Lapin to found his company, Strategic Business Ethics, Inc., now Lapin International. In 2009, Lapin International extended its research to include some of the fastest growing companies in America on the Inc. 5000 list. We identified the eight Leadership Traits most responsible for their success.
